Your children are some of the nicest and most well-behaved students I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. From dealing with all the walking tours (which were amazing!) to travel glitches (why didn't Google maps like Austria??) and to figuring things out as we went sometimes (4.00, 14.00, or 16.00?), your students kept their cool and kept it together. Their continued kindness and joy in learning made each mishap and adventure and future story to tell. Under this update, you'll find a link to the Graz album which has pictures from several different students in it. This is where we sourced the albums pictures from. I do have some more to add as well. If your student would like to add them please let me know and I gladly will. My phone is still in Austria so the pictures I took the of the Goodbye program I cannot yet import. I'm working on that now. Hopefully, I'll feel better soon too! Many thanks again for your childre...
The students have had many new experiences! Monday afternoon we went up to the Uhrturm with the Schloßbergbahn. This is a train that takes you up the mountain so that you can explore the beautiful area. There beautiful views, flowers and bees, and new friends made. This is how we came down. We walked all of these stairs. I'm not sure who had the best time doing all the walking, but many smiles were had. The children enjoyed the exploring, but we weren't done yet! After our wonderful tour, we walked through the city. As we walked, the students decided that one of them is a pirate! The birds all belong to the pirate and are his friends. Lol! Then we arrived at our destination! Apple strudel with vanilla sauce! It was very tasty, and unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the strudel! However, as students awaited their host families, I managed to snap this picture of the children playing cards. The next day was a day to work on our goodbye program. This program...
Friday morning we awoke to another gorgeous day. We were offered the opportunity to go and observe a end of high school test for a guest family's daughter. We took off on the impromptu outing very early. We were welcomed by the host mother. She was very excited to see us all come. The music was beautiful and the kids enjoyed listening to the flute and piano accompaniment. Then we came back to class and worked. The teachers here are slave drivers and expect them to work, work, work...lol! Finally it was time to do something fun! The group met with local students and played some disc golf. It was a new topic for most of the Austrian students, so many had a good time learning new techniques. Laughter was had by all. After Disc Golf several Austrian students wanted to talk more with the students and so we sat a bit while they chatted. Saturday came bright and early and we met to get on the bus to Vienna. We were treated to a walking tour of Vienna were we learned ma...
